Come and go

Happy hour was nice on Friday. It had been a while since I went out with co-workers but it was a good time as usual. I got there late so I only had one drink, but that was all I needed. We weren't there to late but it was just enough time to enjoy each others company outside the office.

It's funny how you can be waiting months for an event to arrive but when it gets here it is over so quickly. This weekend was the Summer Madness Cookout and after party. As usual, it was some good eatin', everything was delicious. They be grillin they pants off every year and that fried fish is to kill for. This year we were at a different park than we usually go to and had a little hatin' from the police but it was still a good time. It was really hot too this time, I had to get outta there earlier than I typically would've....couldn't stand the heat anymore, 2 hours was my max.

The cabaret was nice, the DJ from The Street was spinnin and everybody was groovin. There was a lot going on inside the ballroom and outside. I didn't have anything to drink, not even water, it was $5..... that's ridiculous. There was some characters in there. I tend to dance on my own and I don't like nobody all up on me unless we came in there together. There was this guy that came out on the dance floor right before a jam ended and went to slow music. He grabbed me after asking if I wanted to dance. As I got closer to him, not only was he super skinny, skinnier than me, but he also smelled like Cheetos or feet or something. I had to hold my breath the whole time I danced with him only taking baby breaths when I had no choice. I should've walked right off the dance floor on his behind but I didn't, I sucked it up in order to avoid being rude. As sooooooon as that song was over, I booked up off that dance floor before he could even begin to consider dancing with me again.

I was supposed to head to a convention in Richmond this morning but didn't quite make it. I ended up doing laundry, unpacking from my trips the past two weekends, picking up groceries for dinner which was turkey meatloaf, mac & cheese and a vegetable melody. I did some homework, made my dinner, did some cleaning and sat down to watch a movie.

Tomorrow I will be making my first calls in my new position of Quality Assurance Monitor, yall pray for me please. I have no doubts i'll do good at the job, i'm just worried imma get tired of sitting in that seat and people coming to my cubicle now that i'm not in Vera's eye shot. Whatever the case, i'll shout down who and what is necessary.
