Saturday was braid removal day and boy was it a doozy. It started off okay, I ran to the dry cleaners, check on a spot to put the braids back in on Sunday morning and then, stopped by the grocery store. When I got back home, I looked at my car in disgust as I saw the paint job shaded with dirt and dust. I decided righ then, when I came back downstairs to put my laundry in the washer, i'd run and wash my car. I did just that, then came home to put my final load in and finish taking down my hair ( a task which I started at work on Thursday). I also took some time to bake a sweet potato pie with some frozen batter I had. Let me just say it took me forever to get them thing out of my head, I started at 4:30ish and was done taking them down by 2:30ish, and that's not including wash/dry time. Therein lies the nightmare...... I had forgotten how tangled your hair gets when you take it down from braids. I hadn't had braids since Jr. High School. So many times after I washed my hair I wanted to cut a chunk here and there. I kept thinking to myself it's just hair and it' grow back but 1.5 hour later, I had it all untangled and 1 hour after that dried and manageable. Those braids were absolutely bad on my hair though. I have been told today there is a shampoo for de-tangling after braid removal. Well hellllllloooooooo, information you should've given last week when I said I was taking them down. Well from that experience I said Eff braids, at least for now, I will now need to get my hair cut.
Today was cool. Caught up with my girl and did some grocery shopping. Came home cooked and watched a movie with my home boy. Now my friends, i'm hitting the hay.
