So let me start with last Thursday. I was very excited for my fun filled weekend to start. Though originally, I was supposed to be going home to MI, I ended up sticking around town to do the local activities.
On Thursday at 4:00pm, I had the infamous Spa appointment. Though I had scheduled it originally for a week before it actually happened and Nok (yes that is her real name, I am not keeping it confidential. I want you all to know who NOT to go see should you need a massage.) called and cancelled about an 2 hours before my appointment which made me immediately feel like this was going to be a bad experience. I had spoke with her earlier that day to confirm and she asked me then could I come any earlier. I let her know I couldn't due to my work schedule and she said okay. So for her to call me back that same day and tell me something came up and she needed to cancel was a lie. The reason she wanted me to come early, is the same reason she called and cancelled. *On a side note, I have to admit, when I got the certificate and saw where it was from, Technicolor Day Spa at Cap Ctr Blvd I immediately thought to myself, I wonder if this place is as ghetto as it looks every time I walk by. Anyway, when I arrived on Thursday, I was greeted and taken to the back by Dee, the nail tech. For the record, Dee done a excellent job on my pedicure. The only thing wrong, was she didn't paint the entire toenail and she painted my nails a color she thought was good, not what I actually wanted. But the service part was the actual pedi and mani which she gets two thumbs up on. After Dee completed my pedi, Nok came and got me for my massage. She told me to get undressed and she'd be back. So I checked the clock to see what time it was, the massage was supposed to be for an hour. After I laid down, I could hear all the conversations going on at the hair salon. It was a bunch of chatter mixed with louder "ambiance" music in the massage room, not very relaxing at all. Not to mention nobody offered me any beverages or refreshments of any kind. Forty-five minutes later, Nok was done, I didn't say anything about my shorted time, I really would've loved my 15 minutes but decided to let it alone. I then expected her to do my eyebrow wax because I saw all the necessary tools in the massage room. Instead, she sent me back out to Dee for my manicure. In an effort to not mess up their flow or tell them how to run their business, I didn't ask why wasn't she doing my eyebrows then, I figured there was a method to their madness. I then noticed while Dee was finishing up my manicure, Nok went in with another client. This means I would need to wait at least 60 minutes until she was ready. With that in mind, I left after telling Dee she didn't not provide my final service and I can be back the following moring. I asked Dee to tell her to call me later that evening. When I didn't hear from her, called her, she answered the phone, stated that Dee gave her the message. I couldn't figure out why she didn't call me as soon as she realized the error she made. We agreed on another time, which was Saturday morning at 9am. By the time I left the Spa, I was so stressed at the service I received, I felt like I needed a massage. Originally, my girlfriend who purchased the spa gift certificate on behalf of my co-workers for my birthday was supposed to go with me, i'm glad she didn't. There is only one massage room (that I noticed) and both of us likely would've had an attitude. I would not recommend Technicolor Salon & DaySpa to anyone if you are looking to truly be pampered....this isn't the place.
Later that evening I just chilled and fussed about my expierence. I had a hair appointment the next day and looked forward to that.
Friday was filled with running around and ended with The Street...i'll tell you all about it tomorrow.
