Frazzled Friday

Well, I went ahead and went downtown DC last night after work. I met my girlfriend down there for drink. Originally it was just her and I, but due to the conference being over for the day, a lot of people were roaming around and visiting the bar area for a night cap. We ended up at a table with loads of people coming and going, buying rounds and snacking on the finger foods ordered. It was really nice to be able to get together though it was unplanned. We told stories about disciplining children and how we were disciplined. It's amazing how all children go through the same things when it comes to whoppings.

At some point, someone started buying shots. I don't do light liquor but they pressured me (yes I said pressured me, and no this isn't high school) into drinking a double shot of Belvedere. I have to admit it went down very very smooth. I can see why those who drink vodka like it so much. The second time they ordered shots I had them bring me Cuervo, and there my friends, is when the problems began to occur, which I didn't feel the effects of until this morning.

Talk about being sick. At first I thought I had food poisoning, but reality is, one should not mix liquors and even if I didn't mix them, whenever I drink light liquor, I have the BG's the next day. I should've let my no mean no when I said I don't do vodka. This morning was miserable for me because I kept regurgitating. I was able to get dressed despite the numerous trips to the bathroom, but no quicker than I got down the starts to go to my car, I was bent over the steps wiping my mouth. It's funny how after you let it go, you feel better that instant, so I ran back upstairs, re brushed my teeth, went back downstairs and jumped in the car. About half way to work, I started feeling woozy, and as soon as I pulled in the parking garage, it all hit me again, I was back stopped over with my car door ajar in a parking space, getting rid of what I didn't have. I had to call my manager and let him know I was in the parking garage but I couldn't make it out the car. I then had to call my girlfriend from the office to drive me home in my car which meant somebody had to follow her to bring her back to the office. As usual, Ann took good care of me and made sure I got home safe and sound, gave me some crackers and green tea, patted me on my head, told me to stop trying to be grown and I wouldn't be sick and rolled out.

I'm sure it is evident that I won't be letting anyone pressure me like that again. I'm sure someone else would've taken that shot. Regardless to my sickness today, I was able to get up and complete my catering job. I did cook one pound cake to dark, so it was necessary to run out and get some more butter and eggs. I have to let the butter get room temperature so I may not make the last pound cake until tomorrow morning.

Men Update:

The guy with the issues called me again after I told him we shouldn't talk anymore. This time I had to be a little more rude about him not calling so he gets the point.....I think he did.

On the roster is a Air Marshall, Marine, Barber and Machine Operator/Team Lead. I wonder how fast this list will be cut down...lol. 2 of the 4 are already loosing my interest but maybe they aren't trying to keep it. Either way, it's all good.

Tomorrow is a birthday/anniversary party i'm attending. This is also the event I was baking for. I'm about to call it a night so I can get an early start. Toodles for now.
